Description.

This project comprised of the construction of a new 110kv GIS and 38kv MV Stations which were constructed on the site of an existing 38kv station as part of the Laois-Kilkenny reinforcement upgrade scheme.  Kilcawley Construction carried out both the enabling contract and the main contract for this project.

These works involved the diversion of overhead lines, exposing and diverting underground high voltage services, 3000mtrs of ducting was installed for future electrical services which passed under and between existing live services, all of which were installed on a high-risk site without incident.
