The works comprised of the complete renovation of 21 Sligo Borough council houses (incorporating some new build works) including all associated site works and services. The works to the houses which required complete renovation consisted of the total strip out of existing finishes internal walls 1st and ground floors, roofs and demolition of rear extensions. The gutted houses were then refurbished to provide top quality living accommodation to comply with the building regulations and technical guidance documents part A-M.  Works also included remedial works to 46 no houses as part of 50/50 scheme where Sligo Borough Council and home owner each contributed 50% of costs. The street enhancement aspect of the project consisted of all the existing roads within the estate to be excavated to solid formation a minimum of 800mm below existing levels and filled with compacted clause 804 materials. All the existing over head services ESB, Street Lighting, Chorus, Telecom had to be underground plus full rehabilitation of existing Surface, Water Foul Sewerage and Watermains. The street finish consisted of paved walkways, asphalt paving, parking bays, speed ramps, landscaping, street furniture, new traffic signal system and street Lighting.
