Refurbishment of St Pappin’s Church Ballymun (Phase 1) St Pappin’s Nursing Home and Day Care Centre
The refurbishment of St Pappin’s Church formed phase 1 of the overall St Pappin’s Day Care Centre. St Pappin’s Church had been derelict for a number of years and had been subjected to vandalism and decay. The external works consisted of roof repairs, stone work repairs, cleaning and repointing of stone work, stained glass window repairs and new gothic doors. The internal works consisted of the restoration of a large area subjected to fire damage as a result of vandalism. This included the vaulted ceilings, lime render, joinery, hardwood and natural stone floors. The completed project is an excellent example of how a once derelict building can be restored to its original condition.
