The project consisted of the upgrade of the existing theatre facility situated on the first floor.
The construction work of the operating theatre upgrade had to be carried out in the environment of a live hospital where maintenance of hygiene and sterile environment had to be maintained at all times.
The key feature of the project large demolition works involved required a high degree of co-ordination and co-operation with the hospital management, medical staff and the public. The works involved intensive M & E services which required tie – in to the existing services in the hospital.
The programme was key, with only a six week shut down period allocated until theatre had to be fully commissioned and handed back over to the client.
