The project scope consisted of new three storey building to provide prayer room, residential and day care facilities, in house X ray unit, dayrooms, catering facilities and staff accommodation.
Killybegs community hospital is a cutting edge healthcare facility providing the most modern equipment and latest medical technology to the North West and Donegal. It is the only hospital of its kind to provide a digital X ray and video conference link with Letterkenny general hospital.
The key feature of the building the circular glazed prayer room with a strong resemblance to a lighthouse in the bay. The external elevation Alphacrete masonry block work with the extensive use of specials to create the circular tower and feature window surrounds, the use of large number of windows bought much needed natural light into the patient wing of this building.
