The project consisted of the construction of a multi purpose centre at Sligo Institute of Technology to cater for student population of 4600.
The building comprised 1200M² sports hall capable of being sub-divided into smaller space, thereby facilitating simultaneous multi usage, in effect there are two sports halls, each of full size. The centre also accommodates changing rooms on ground floor; the first floor accommodates gymnasium, recreation space, social centre and balcony view of the playing pitches and athletic area.
The key feature the Ridigal Ziplok Roof System with large circular full glazed roof lights to provide natural light to the sports hall, the external elevations consisted of a palette of materials to include, cedar cladding, sto render, architectural panelling and curtain walling.
