Construction of these substations was carried out by Kilcawley Construction under the current ESB Network €2.5 billion upgrade of Ireland's electrical infrastructure. Projects undertaken to date include ESB 38KVA stations at the following locations;
- Ballinderry, Co. Westmeath
- Kilcock, Co. Kildare
- Kilcolgan, Co. Galway
- Sallins, Co. Kildare
- Tullow, Co. Carlow
- Blessington, Co. Wicklow
- Enniscrone, Co. Sligo
- Milford, Co. Donegal
- Cashel, Co. Tipperary
- Castlebar, Co. Mayo
- Letterkenny, Co. Donegal
- Collooney, Co. Sligo
Each project comprises the upgrade of the existing live operation 38KVA stations. The works involve site works, ducting, earthing, transformer bund, various concrete plinths, control buildings, modular building basements, site fencing, site stoning, compound roads and all associated site works.
Kilcawley Construction staff underwent special training in relation to the requirements of working on live sub-stations and, to date, we continue to work on these with zero accidents / incidents.
