  • Sligo Institute of Technology: West Block

    Kilcawley Construction completed the new library, lecture theatres and new administration offices at Sligo Institute of Technology, known as the West Block. The project was designed by Scott Tallon Walker architects and structural engineers were Jennings and O'Donovan Ltd.

    The total cost of the project was €6 m and it was completed 1998.


    In addition, Kilcawley Construction collaborated with Scott Tallon Walker architects on the Business Innovation Centre at Sligo Institute of Technology. This project was completed in 1998 at a cost of €1.3m.

    Fort Dodge Laboratories, Sligo

    In 1992 Kilcawley Construction undertook to fit out this state of the art animal healthcare facility for Wyeth (Ireland) Ltd.
    The civil Works were carried out in conjunction with Fleur Daniel. This project took 24 weeks to complete and cost approx €1 million.

    Lough Arrow, County Sligo

    The Lough Arrow Community Enterprise Centre was designed by Enniskillen architect Richard Pearse and is a community-based project for the study of the unique geology of the Ox Moutains. With accomodation facilities for between thirty and forty students, the centre is located beside the ruins of an old castle.

    The architect incorporated the circular forms of the castle into his design for the new structure and both of these buildings can be seen from the main Sligo-Dublin road, as it climbs the Curlew mountains on the approach to Boyle.

    Saehan Roof Number 1 & 2

    Kilcawley Construction undertook to reroof approximately 2 acres of an existing manufacturing facility operated by the Korean multinational Saehan at Hazelwood Sligo.

    IDA Business Parks at Sligo and Carrick-on-Shannon

    Kilcawley Construction were the successful bidder in upgrading infrastructure at these business parks. These contracts had a combined value of €1.5 million and were completed in 2002-2003.

    Millenium Park Office Blocks D9 & D10, Naas

    Kilcawley Construction won the contract for the construction of two office blocks at Millenium Park, Naas. These fast-track projects commenced in October 2002 and were handed over by March 2003. These office buildings have a value of over €1 million. Project Managers were F.E.S.P. of Dublin.

    New Classroom Block at St. Mels College, Longford

    Funded by the Department of Education, Kilcawley Construction worked with Dixon McGaver Nolan Architects on a new classroom block at this old and well known Irish secondary school. The block was officially opened in 2002. This project brings to a conclusion development works at St. Mels College which have been ongoing for the past number of years.

    Summerhill College Health and Safety Works, Sligo

    Kilcawley Construction were awarded this contract of approximately 0.75 million in value. The project entailed working in a functioning secondary school building, of approximately 1000 students. It is a credit to Simon Muldowney and his team that these works were completed in time and on budget and was accident-incident free.

    Facility conversion in Bray

    Kilcawley Construction collaborated with Project Management Ltd on this County Wickow job. The client, Oriflame commissioned the conversion of an existing warehouse facility to modern laboratories. This project had a value of approx €1.3 million and was fast-tracked for completion by Christmas 2000.
