In May 2011, Kilcawley Construction commenced work on the new extension and refurbishment of Scoil Iosa,Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo.
The project is to be built over 2 phases. The first phase consists of classrooms, a general purpose room, resource rooms, offices and external play areas.
On completion of phase 1 the staff and pupils will transfer to the new facility and work to phase two will commence.
This consists of a total refurbishment to include demolitions, a new roof,full upgrade of the heating and electrical installation, new windows and site works.
The key feature of the project is that the school will be fully operational during the construction process.
The Health and Safety of the pupils, staff and general public require the organisation of the works in a manner that is sensitive to their needs, with particular
attention to the control of noise, dust, construction and school traffic.
