Kilcawley Construction was awarded the Main Civils and Building Package Contract following a successful tender bid. The Client carried out a very thorough pre-qualification process from which 3 Contractors were selected. The pre-qualification process involved the Client carrying out several interviews with prospective Contractors examining the prospective Contractors relevant work experience on similar Projects, their proposed personnel carrying out the works. The Client also carried out thorough checks on the financial standing and references of the prospective Contractors. A full review of prospective Contractors policies and procedures in relation to Health, Safety and Environmental standards was also carried out.
The new manufacturing facility project is occurring directly adjacent to an existing manufacturing Clean Room facility that operates on a 24 hour basis. The new extension is a steel framed structure clad in curtain walling and Kingspan architectural panels with include feature rainscreen cladding. All underground process drainage under the building is constructed in double contained grade 316 stainless steel pipework. Internally the new facility will be fitted out with Cleanrooms. As part of the works several new underground tanks will be constructed throughout the existing plant
All works are taking place within a “live” fully operational existing manufacturing facility. Stringent safety protocols are in place for the duration of the works which are over and above the industry norm. Daily co-ordination meeting occur with the Construction Team and the Clients representatives to ensure all work is carried out with minimum disruption to the existing plant.
